Councillor Brian Gate declared a prejudicial interest in Complaint 2 in that he was a former trustee of an organisation related to the complaint.  He would leave the room during this item.

RESOLVED: That the terms of reference of the Sub-Committee be noted.

Complaint - Breach of Code of Conduct

The report on behalf of the Monitoring Officer and all relevant information will be circulated at the meeting.

Minutes:

Members considered a report on behalf of the Director of Legal and Governance Services, which set out details of two complaints that Members had failed or may have failed to comply with the Authority’s Code of Conduct.

 

The Sub-Committee fully considered and discussed the first complaint, with each Member setting out their individual thoughts on its content.

 

Due to the previously declared prejudicial interest, the meeting was declared inquorate for the second complaint and unable to proceed.

 

RESOLVED:  That

 

(1)               no further action be taken in respect of Complaint 1;

 

(2)               Complaint 2 be deferred to the next meeting of the Assessment Sub?Committee, to be arranged.
