Determination of the Statutory Proposals to clarify the age range of Priestmead Primary School and Nursery pdf icon PDF 124 KB

Report of the Director Schools and Children’s Development.

Minutes:

The Portfolio Holder for Schools and Children’s Development considered a report of the Director of Schools and Children’s Development regarding the statutory proposals to establish the age range of Priestmead Primary School and Nursery to be 4-11 years plus nursery from 1 September 2010 with a planned admission number of 90.

At its meeting on 17 September 2009, Harrow Cabinet decided statutory notices be published in respect of the combined Priestmead School early in 2010 and that the Portfolio Holder for Schools and Children’s Development be authorised to determine the additional statutory proposals.

It was noted that no objections had been received during the representation period.  Changing the age range of Priestmead Primary School and Nursery would bring the school into line with the school reorganisation arrangements at all other schools in Harrow, as no other primary sector school in Harrow would have Year 7 classes.  This change would ensure that the pupils received a consistent education that was aligned with the National Curriculum Key Stages.

RESOLVED:  That the statutory proposals to establish the age range of Priestmead Primary School and Nursery to be 4-11 years plus nursery from 1 September 2010 with a planned admission number of 90 be approved.
