The Committee received the Scrutiny Annual Report 2023-24, which had been developed by the Scrutiny Leadership Group, which outlined the activities of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee, the scrutiny sub-committees and the scrutiny lead councillors during the 2023-2024 municipal year.

 

A Member proposed that the section on “The Focus of Work Over the Past Year under Community” be amended with wording that would be forwarded to the Scrutiny Lead Members, through the Policy Team.  This was duly seconded and agreed by the Committee.

 

The Committee made the following additional comments:

 

·                 that additional wording to “express appreciation to Council Staff for their professional work in libraries” be inserted into the section “Highlights of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee”.

 

·                 that additional wording to “ensure that structural changes did not have an adverse impact on residents” be inserted into the section on “Impact and Value of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee”.

 

·                 Councillor June Baxter requested that her attendance at the Overview and Scrutiny Committee Meeting held on 7 November 2023 be recorded in Appendix 1 - Scrutiny Committee Business and Attendance 2023-2024.

 

Resolved to RECOMMEND:  (to Council)

 

That the Scrutiny Annual Report 2023-24, as amended, be endorsed.

 

RESOLVED:  That, subject to the amendments outlined above, the Scrutiny Annual Report 2023-24 be agreed.
