Appointment of Chair

To appoint a Chair for the purposes of this meeting.

Minutes:

RESOLVED:  That Geoff Elford be appointed Chair of the Panel for the purposes of this meeting.

Arrangement of Agenda

(a)  To agree that the reports listed under Item 6 of the agenda be considered with the press and public excluded on the grounds the reports contain exempt information, as defined in Paragraph 6 of Part 1 to Schedule 12A of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, relating to the adoption, care, fostering or education of a particular child.

4a.  Formal Complaint About the Provision of Social Services

This item was considered to contain exempt information as defined in Paragraph 4 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1985 in that it contains information relating to a particular applicant for or recipient of a Service provided by the Authority.

Terms of Reference

To note the terms of reference as set out below:

 

“In accordance with the procedures and guidance given under the Children’s Act 1989 and the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990 and when requested to do so by a dissatisfied complainant, to review decisions made relating to complaints.”

10.

Formal Complaint about the Provision of Social Services

Minutes:

The Panel considered a response from the Head of Community Care (People First) and the Independent Investigator which set out the background to the Community Care complaint.

 

The Panel carefully reviewed the case, and after taking into account views expressed by the Complainant, the Investigating Officers and the Social Services Department, the Panel

 

RESOLVED: That a copy of the Panel’s decision be provided to the Director of Social Services.
