Disciplinary Hearing

Minutes:

The Panel noted that the appellant was not present but invited his representative to brief the Panel on the reasons for the appellant’s absence.

The Panel was advised that that the appellant had not made arrangements for his representative to present the case on his behalf and noted the reasons for his non-attendance.  Members were informed that the appellant was out of the country due to a bereavement in the family and the need to deal with the family estate as a result.  The appellant would not return to London until 4 November 2011.

The Panel carefully considered the reasons for non-attendance, as put forward by the appellant’s representative.  Members were of the view that due to the exceptional circumstances the appeal should be re-scheduled to allow the appellant a further opportunity to present his case.  However, they stated that should the appellant not attend the next scheduled hearing, the Panel would recommend the appeal be considered in his absence and that this message be conveyed to him.

RESOLVED:  That due to the exceptional circumstances for non-attendance, the appeal be rescheduled to allow the appellant an opportunity to attend and present his case personally.
