Members received a report which sought approval to the recruitment process for the Director of Finance and Assurance (Section 151 Officer) and the remuneration package for advertising.

 

The Managing Director outlined the proposed recruitment process for this statutory post which was set out in the report.

 

RESOLVED:  That the appointment process for the Director of Finance and Assurance (Section 151 Officer) post and the remuneration package of £132,168 - £145,575 (D3) be approved.

Report of the Corporate Director of Place

Members received a report which sought approval of the remuneration package for the new Assistant Director of Homes role post within the Place Directorate.

 

The Director of Housing introduced the report and explained that this new post was the result of a restructure and would have responsibility for all aspects related to the home.  In response to a question, he advised that it was the intention to go out to the open market to recruit to this new role.

 

Members indicated that both the Leader of the Council and Shadow Portfolio Holder should be included in the interview process for this post.

 

RESOLVED:  That the remuneration package for the Assistant Director of Homes role, in line with the evaluated grade of D1 (£94,902 to £111,474), be approved.

RESOLVED:  That in accordance with Part I of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items for the reasons set out below:

Report of the Managing Director

Minutes:

Members received a confidential report which sought approval to a severance payment of greater than £100,000.

 

RESOLVED:  That the severance payment, as detailed in section 2 of the officer report, be approved.

Appointment of the Director of Legal and Governance Services

Upon the interview of the shortlisted candidates to consider making an appointment.

Minutes:

The Panel received three applications for the post of Director of Legal and Governance Services and were informed that one candidate had withdrawn their application.

 

Having interviewed two candidates, the Panel

 

RESOLVED unanimously:  That

 

(1)            Jessica Farmer, Interim Director of Legal and Governance Services and Monitoring Officer, London Borough of Harrow, be appointed to the post of Director of Legal Governance Services of the London Borough of Harrow,in accordance with the terms and conditions governing Chief Officer posts and subject to there being no ‘material or well-founded objection’ by members of Cabinet;

 

(2)            the remuneration package for the above-mentioned post be £132,168 (D3 spinal point 1) per annum.
