Attendance by Reserve Members

To note the attendance at this meeting of any duly appointed Reserve Members.

 

Reserve Members may attend meetings:-

 

(i)                 to take the place of an ordinary Member for whom they are a reserve;

(ii)               where the ordinary Member will be absent for the whole of the meeting; and

(iii)             the meeting notes at the start of the meeting at the item ‘Reserves’ that the Reserve Member is or will be attending as a reserve;

CouncillorNarinder Singh Mudhar declared a personal interest in that he was a Governor of Harrow High School.  He would remain in the room whilst the matter was considered and voted upon.

 

CouncillorAsad Omar declared a personal interest in that he was a Governor of Nower Hill School.  He would remain in the room whilst the matter was considered and voted upon.

Admissions to County Schools

Report of the Corporate Director Children’s Services.

Minutes:

In accordance with the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, cases H55, H56  and H57 were admitted late to the agenda to allow the Panel to allocate an appropriate place to the applicants.  It was noted that case H54 had been circulated with the main agenda.

 

On 17 March 2010, there were four children for whom admissions staff could make no reasonable offer of a school place.  The Education Admissions and Awards Advisory Panel was requested to recommend to the Director of Schools and Children’s Development to authorise the admission of these pupils to schools where no places existed in the relevant year group.

 

Resolved to RECOMMEND:
