Admissions to County Schools

Report of the Corporate Director Children’s Services.

Minutes:

On 20 January 2010, there was one child, reference H44, for whom admissions staff could make no reasonable offer of a school place.  The Education Admission and Awards Panel was requested to authorise the admission of this pupil to a school where no places existed in the relevant year group.

The Panel was informed that all other cases detailed in the officer’s report had been withdrawn as these children had since been placed at one of their preferred schools.

The Panel also asked for details of cases that had been withdrawn.

Resolved to RECOMMEND:  (to the Corporate Director Children’s Services)

That child H44 be admitted to Year Group 11 at Whitmore High School.

RESOLVED:  Members requested that, in the future, when children were placed into a school prior to the meeting, the Panel be provided with details of the placements.
