The Panel received a presentation on the Assessment of possible Local Areas of Special Character (LASC).

 

The report presented an assessment of two areas for potential designation as Local Areas of Special Character (LASC) and that these areas be recommended to Cabinet for approval for the purpose of undertaking consultation on the proposed areas and accompanying assessments. The assessments had been undertaken against the criteria approved by Cabinet on 14 September 2023.

 

Following the presentation, there were a number of questions asked by members of the Panel and a full discussion took place.

 

Resolved to RECOMMEND:  (to Cabinet)

 

That two recommended areas for designation as Local Areas of Special Character be approved for the purposes of consultation, with the outcome to be reported back to the Panel and Cabinet.
